Depot/Branch Manager – Distribution Hub (Newcastle)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Depot/Branch Manager to lead the Newcastle distribution hub. This permanent, hands‑on role involves overseeing day‑to‑day operations, staff, and delivery activities within a high‑volume logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the hub, processing 800–900 parcels per day and ensuring timely collection and delivery.
• Lead and motivate Hub Assistants, Dashboard Operators, Customer Service staff, Sorters and Supervisors to meet performance targets.
• Coordinate contracted drivers, external contractors and maintain communication with head office, customers and satellite sites.
• Monitor service delivery, productivity and KPI compliance, implementing preventative measures to avoid disruptions.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, franchise requirements and relevant regulations while driving continuous operational improvement.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) with at least 6 years of relevant management experience in logistics, warehousing, courier or similar high‑volume environments.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams, work with KPIs and meet operational targets.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with a hands‑on leadership style.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for travel between operational sites.
• Local residency in Newcastle or willingness to relocate.
