Demand Planner – Home Textile Manufacturing

About the role

Our client, a manufacturer of household textiles, is seeking a Demand Planner to be based in Mobeni, Durban. The role focuses on creating accurate demand forecasts to support production planning, inventory management and overall supply chain efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts to ensure 100 % on‑time and in‑full delivery.
• Manage finished‑goods inventory levels, balancing customer demand with excess stock avoidance.
• Coordinate with production teams to align manufacturing output with forecasted demand and lead‑time requirements.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to secure timely deliveries and resolve supply‑chain disruptions.
• Generate regular reports on stock turnover, demand trends and inventory status.
• Maintain system integrity by ensuring accurate data entry and schedule adherence.
• Support the senior MRP planner in achieving customer service targets.

Required profile

• Matriculation with Mathematics.
• 1–2 years of experience as a Demand Planner.
• Supply‑chain or logistics qualification is advantageous.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
