Demand & Contract Management Officer – Procurement

About the role

The Border Management Authority is seeking a skilled professional to manage demand and contract processes within its Finance and Facility Management division. The role focuses on procurement, tender administration and stakeholder coordination to support border control operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, evaluate and convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders, ensuring compliance with PFMA, Treasury Regulations and SCM policies.
• Manage tender processes, including advertisement, bid evaluation, committee coordination and contract award.
• Develop and monitor procurement and demand management plans, liaising with end‑users and senior management.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, negotiate with suppliers, track deliveries, verify invoices and ensure timely payment.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships across BMA business units and represent the authority in relevant committees and industry forums.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and an NQF 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Public Administration, Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Management or ICT.
• Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience in supply chain management.
• Knowledge of the Border Management Authority Act 2020, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, SCM Regulations and Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act.
• Valid driver’s licence and flexibility to work overtime as required.
