DC Outbound Manager – Ethical/Pharma (KZN Distribution Centre)

About the role

The DC Outbound Manager will lead the outbound function at Dis-Chem's KZN Distribution Centre in New Germany, ensuring operational excellence and efficient order fulfilment for ethical and pharmaceutical products.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and clean SAP EWM system using management tools.
• Plan and implement procedures to maximise operational efficiencies.
• Manage daily customer orders and ensure wave item clearing within 48 hours.
• Support implementation and optimisation of new efficiency projects.
• Maintain electronic and material handling equipment in safe operating condition.
• Ensure orders are processed according to Dis-Chem SOPs and resources are optimised.
• Forecast department resources to meet strategic objectives.
• Develop solutions for large seasonal shipments and special packaging.
• Manage shelf‑life to prevent dispatch of short‑dated or expired stock.
• Analyse shrinkage indicators and act accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with GWP, SHE program and OHS Act.
• Resolve internal and external customer queries efficiently.
• Guarantee deliveries are complete, on‑time, and to the correct customer.
• Identify and address supplier issues impacting financial objectives.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 5 years experience in distribution, logistics or supply chain environment.
• Experience in retail/pharmaceutical supply chain is advantageous.
