Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our client’s team in South Africa. You will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable data pipelines that feed analytics and reporting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for business‑critical analytics.
• Build and optimise cloud‑based data warehouses and data models (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
• Integrate data from podcast publishers, advertising platforms, APIs and other third‑party sources.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, integration and quality issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Analytics and Client Services to deliver production‑ready datasets.
• Improve existing workflows for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and promote best practices.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes.

Required profile

• 2‑4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, fast‑paced teams.
