Data Analyst

About the role

Nawiri Group, a certified B Corporation operating a portfolio of responsible travel companies across Africa, is hiring a Data Analyst in Cape Town. The analyst partners with business, collects, analyses and interprets data to give insights that support strategic decisions. The role sits in the group's growing data and analytics function and offers a hybrid arrangement combining office work in Cape Town with the option of remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with internal clients such as leaders to understand their needs and deliver data products that meet them.
• Collaborate across lines of business and shared services to tailor data-driven solutions within a standardised framework.
• Use statistical and analytical techniques to explore datasets and uncover patterns, trends, correlations and anomalies.
• Build interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations with tools such as Tableau, Power BI or QlikView so stakeholders can understand complex data.
• Create regular reports presenting KPIs and other key metrics.
• Turn data findings into actionable insights that inform strategy, identify improvements and reveal revenue-growth opportunities.
• Carry out ad-hoc analysis to answer specific, often unplanned business questions quickly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, informatics/information systems, mathematics/statistics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a data analyst role or similar.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and proactive, with strong written and verbal communication and listening skills.
• Team player, adaptable to change and able to deliver results and meet stakeholder expectations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tableau, Microsoft SSRS, Power BI or QlikView.
• Proficiency in SQL or PostgreSQL or another database query language.
• Advanced Excel knowledge.
