Customer Service Representative

About the role

Join EXL’s fast‑paced contact centre in Cape Town as a Customer Service Representative. You will be the primary point of contact for policyholders, handling billing transactions, answering inquiries, and providing technical support on client systems.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound calls from policyholders in a contact‑center environment.
• Process telephone payments, account adjustments and other billing transactions.
• Interpret and verify billing information accurately.
• Respond to simple and complex billing inquiries.
• Provide technical assistance on client platforms.
• Follow up on outstanding items promptly.
• Deliver service experiences that meet performance metrics and quality standards.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Up to 1 year of experience, preferably in a customer‑service setting.
• Post‑high‑school education preferred.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and service delivery.
• Strong communication, listening and organisational skills.
• Patience, positive attitude and teamwork orientation.
• Willingness to complete the full training program and work in a structured environment.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to navigate computer software applications.
