Customer Service Clerk

About the role

The Customer Service Clerk is responsible for delivering a professional service to customers, ensuring that deliveries are completed on time and in full. The role supports repeat business by maintaining clear communication with customers, dispatch teams, and production staff.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong customer service skills and follow all relevant procedures to understand customer requirements.
• Actively manage the delivery process, coordinating with customers, dispatch/weighbridge clerks, and production to ensure full delivery.
• Oversee the uplift process, ensuring stock retrieval and accurate documentation.
• Address customer complaints within your scope and escalate to supervisors or managers as needed.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers by adhering to company values and excellent service practices.
• Communicate any delivery concerns promptly to transporters and dispatch clerks.
• Manage delivery note processes and ensure timely order placement and processing.
• Escalate slow or problematic off‑loading situations to a supervisor for assistance.

Required profile

• Grade 123 qualification.
• At least 4 years of experience in a customer‑facing environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Experience using Buhler systems.
• Knowledge of MTech applications.
• Strong command of MS Office suite.
