Customer Equipment Engineer

About the role

The Customer Equipment Engineer will lead the implementation, commissioning and ongoing support of industrial machinery for our clients in Cape Town and internationally. You will act as the technical bridge between manufacturing partners, sales teams and end‑users, ensuring equipment meets engineering standards and delivers reliable performance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment manufacturing with approved partners and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Verify compliance with engineering documentation and develop installation manuals and technical packages.
• Provide on‑site technical support during installation, commissioning and warranty investigations.
• Maintain the Machine Tracker system, create preventative maintenance plans and coordinate maintenance with local partners.
• Investigate equipment failures, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Capture lessons learned, feed improvement opportunities into the engineering backlog and support prototype validation.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with company policies, statutory requirements and safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience with industrial machinery.
• Proven experience in FAT, equipment failure investigation and corrective action implementation.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally and internationally.
