Customer Assistant – Taste Consultant

About the role

Join Woolworths as a Customer Assistant: Taste Consultant in our corporate store in Pietermaritzburg. You will bring the brand to life by delivering engaging food tastings, sharing product stories, and gathering valuable customer feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide warm, informative food tastings that showcase Woolworths products.
• Prepare and present demo dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
• Use digital tools (QR codes, internal systems) to collect and report customer feedback.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health protocols throughout the demo.
• Collaborate with store teams to keep demo products stocked and attractively merchandised.
• Manage the entire demo cycle – set‑up, execution, and clean‑up – independently.
• Promote featured items by sharing compelling product stories and encouraging trial.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
• Prior experience in hospitality or food service is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to plan, organise and multitask in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Professional appearance, reliability and honesty.
