Culture and Engagement Officer – Resorts

About the role

The Culture and Engagement Officer will drive an integrated culture and engagement strategy across all Beekman Group resorts in South Africa. Reporting from the Head Office in Port Shepstone, the incumbent will partner with resort management and customer experience teams to inspire employees, align them with the company vision, and elevate the guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Staff Welfare Manager in defining and growing the company culture.
• Lead the internal engagement of the Beekman W.A.Y initiative, including action planning, goal setting, and insight delivery.
• Develop, implement, and assess programs that continuously improve employee engagement and performance.
• Build strong internal networks, manage change communications, and champion culture initiatives.
• Provide counsel and tools to resort managers for effective employee communication.
• Coordinate staff socials, guest interaction events, and other cultural activities in line with the W.A.Y plan.
• Design and roll out people‑recognition initiatives across all organisational levels.
• Facilitate training that reinforces company culture for staff at every level.
• Oversee ad‑hoc projects that enhance employee and customer experiences.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in internal communications or culture building.
• Proven track record in staff and customer engagement within a hospitality or resort environment.
• Strong leadership, independent thinking, and analytical abilities to solve complex problems.
• Excellent facilitation skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel extensively to resort locations while based at the Port Shepstone head office.
