Credit Controller

About the role

The Credit Controller will manage the accounts receivable function for project‑based clients of a fibre service provider based in Roodepoort. The role focuses on timely collection, strong client relationships, and supporting healthy cash flow while collaborating with project managers, commercial teams, and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of project accounts, ensuring invoices are issued accurately and on time.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices via phone, email and meetings to reduce debtor days.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and allocate incoming payments correctly.
• Work with Project Managers to align billing with project milestones and monitor contractual payment terms.
• Reconcile customer accounts, resolve billing discrepancies and prepare monthly debtor reconciliations.
• Produce weekly and monthly age analysis reports, forecast collections and flag high‑risk accounts.
• Maintain compliance with credit policies, POPIA and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education; diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of credit control experience, preferably on project‑based accounts.
• Experience in engineering, construction, mining, manufacturing, energy or similar industrial sectors.
• Proven ability to manage large debtor books and work under pressure.
