Creative Strategist – Performance Creative (eCommerce)

About the role

FMG Digital is seeking a hands‑on Creative Strategist to lead performance‑driven creative for multiple eCommerce brands. The role is fully remote, based in South Africa, and focuses on developing ad concepts that convert across paid social channels.

Key responsibilities

• Own growth and creative strategy for 4‑6 eCommerce brands, from product insight to ad execution.
• Analyse daily Meta ad account performance to scale winners, iterate, or pause under‑performing assets.
• Develop hooks, angles, offers and write ad copy, headlines, UGC scripts and creative briefs.
• Collaborate closely with media buyers to optimise campaigns and diagnose performance issues.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in eCommerce, paid social or performance creative.
• Strong understanding of performance metrics such as ROAS, CPA, CTR, hook rate, frequency and retention.
• Ability to work autonomously, own client accounts and iterate quickly without constant direction.
• Openness to feedback and a focus on conversion over aesthetics.

Required skills

• Experience with Meta (Facebook) Ads platforms.
• Familiarity with creative tools such as Foreplay, Motion, Atria or CreativeOS.
• Proficiency in AI‑driven creative workflows.
