Country HR Manager

About the role

Gartner is looking for an experienced Country HR Manager to lead HR partnership and consultation for its South Africa locations. You will act as the local HR authority, ensuring the company can attract, develop, and retain top talent while maintaining compliance with South African labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end management of BBBEE and Employment Equity programs.
• Ensure legal compliance across all people processes and act as the focal point for internal communications, policies, and procedures.
• Lead employee‑relations activities, including investigations, risk mitigation, and engagement initiatives.
• Advise managers on organisational design, workforce planning, and complex employee conversations.
• Partner with global Talent Acquisition to drive talent acquisition, referrals, internal mobility, and a superior interview experience.
• Collaborate with legal and the ER Centre of Excellence on sensitive matters such as tribunals.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree strongly preferred; graduate degree ideal.
• Progressive HR experience in international organisations, preferably with an American headquarters.
• Hands‑on experience managing BBBEE and Employment Equity programmes.
• Advanced employee‑relations expertise aligned with South African legislation.
• Proven ability to work in a data‑driven environment using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
