Costing Analyst / Bookkeeper

About the role

The Costing Analyst / Bookkeeper will manage the full‑function bookkeeping cycle and provide product cost analysis to support pricing, margin and purchasing decisions. This hands‑on role blends day‑to‑day accounting tasks with analytical insight into procurement costs.

Key responsibilities

• Capture all financial transactions (sales, purchases, journals, bank entries) in the accounting system and perform monthly trial‑balance reconciliations.
• Maintain debtor and creditor books, including invoicing, allocations, age analysis, supplier invoice matching and payment runs.
• Manage the cashbook, daily bank transactions, bank reconciliations and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and month‑end adjustments; assist with VAT reconciliations and statutory submissions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close, provide audit‑ready documentation and respond to external audit requests.
• Analyse product and raw‑material costs, build landed‑cost calculations and compare actual costs to budgeted standards.
• Produce cost‑analysis reports and dashboards, flag significant cost fluctuations and advise procurement on cost‑benefit options.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a full‑function bookkeeping role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on both transactional and analytical tasks.
