Cost Controller

About the role

DP World is seeking a Cost Controller to manage and optimise costs across its operations in South Africa. The role focuses on controlling expenses through preferential supplier contracts, monitoring actual costs against agreed rates, and supporting budgeting and billing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Control costs via preferential contracts with suppliers and monitor contract rates versus actual costs.
• Evaluate suppliers, prepare RFQs, and assist in designing process flows and workflow requests on Prisma.
• Assist with budgeting for operations and monitor performance against budget and contract prices.
• Liaise with operational managers and directors to ensure cost targets are met.
• Prepare tenders for new customers and renewals for existing customers.
• Source new suppliers, compare quotes, and evaluate performance against actual results.
• Review supplier invoices against contractual rates and reconcile creditors when necessary.
• Calculate billing to customers based on contracts and operational volumes, and issue invoices.
• Support ad‑hoc quotations for customers and collaborate with operational teams to drive down both price and quantity usage.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification.
• Minimum 3 years post‑articles experience.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Word.
• Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with Prisma workflow system.
