Cost and Management Accountant

About the role

Our client, Sir Fruit, a leading South African beverage brand, is seeking a proactive Cost and Management Accountant to join the Johannesburg team. Reporting to the Financial Director, you will support the Demand and Supply function, translate strategic direction into budget plans, and drive cost efficiencies across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the annual 12‑month budget, monitor performance, and identify variances.
• Maintain a rolling six‑month profit forecast, highlighting impacts on EBITDA and cash flow.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts for multiple entities, delivering insight into profitability and variances.
• Coordinate monthly stock counts, reconcile inventory, and manage inventory risks.
• Maintain product costing, develop activity‑based costing, and lead the transition to absorption costing using Syspro.
• Report and investigate production and COGS variances, working with Production and Supply Chain to improve gross margin.

Required profile

• Strong manufacturing costing background with at least 8 years of commercial and supply experience.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Cost Management; CIMA or similar advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to influence strategic decisions and manage projects in an ambiguous environment.
• Self‑starter, innovative thinker with high integrity and customer‑centric mindset.
