Cost Accountant (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance team and support the financial operations of a growing U.S.-based home services company. The role is fully remote and focuses on job cost analysis, gross‑margin monitoring and assisting both AP and AR functions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed job cost analyses and gross‑margin reports for completed projects.
• Document a complete cost profile for each project within 24 hours of completion.
• Analyze project costs, identify variances and trends, and recommend improvements.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and related financial documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Assist with additional accounting and reporting tasks as required.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in cost accounting, preferably in project‑based, construction or home‑services environments.
• Strong understanding of job costing and gross‑margin analysis.
• Experience supporting AP and AR functions.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Professional written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience using accounting software.
• Familiarity with ERP or job‑costing systems.
