Cost Accountant – Manufacturing Finance

About the role

The Cost Accountant will support the plant finance function of a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical automotive components. Reporting to the Plant Controller, the role ensures accurate product costing, inventory control and financial reporting in line with company policies and IFRS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product costing and inventory control processes.
• Perform cost control, variance analysis and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Manage ERP data integrity, particularly within SAP, and ensure accurate month‑end reporting.
• Provide operational and cross‑functional financial support to the factory.

Required profile

• BCom in Accounting or Cost & Management Accounting (NQF6); CIMA studies preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing or factory finance, with proven cost accounting, inventory valuation and variance analysis expertise.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and IFRS IAS 2 (inventories).
• Advanced Excel proficiency and solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
