Coordinating Doctor

About the role

International SOS is looking for experienced General Practitioners to join its Midrand office as Coordinating Doctors. The role involves delivering international medical support to the company’s clients, including medical advice, health‑risk assessments, clinical reviews, referrals and the coordination of medical evacuations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely medical advice and health‑risk assessments for international travellers and expatriates.
• Conduct clinical reviews and coordinate referrals to specialist services when required.
• Plan, organise and oversee medical evacuations and repatriations, ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
• Participate in international medical movements, supporting patients during evacuations and transfers.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in line with International SOS standards.

Required profile

• Full Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree.
• Full HPCSA registration for independent practice as a General Practitioner.
• Valid passport.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑Community Service experience.
• At least 5 years of private‑sector General Practice experience.

Required skills

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Computer literacy.
