Adherence Consultant – Patient Parcel Services

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies' Adherence Centre in Midrand requires an Adherence Consultant to join their team. The purpose of the role is to provide patient‑ready parcel services by calling patients monthly and processing their medication orders in line with South African Pharmacy Council guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Adherence Centre telephone line according to operational procedures.
• Interpret medication histories, contact patients or representatives, and confirm the purpose of each call.
• Process medication orders, update patient profiles, and ensure accurate claim submissions.
• Advise patients on medical‑aid authorisation procedures and handle any rejections or out‑of‑pocket expenses.
• Maintain up‑to‑date customer profiles, merge records centrally, and report discrepancies to management.
• Provide clear telephone etiquette, document special patient requirements, and follow up on feedback.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
• Post‑basic qualification as a Pharmacist Assistant, registered with the Pharmacy Council.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including use of Unisolv.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• Customer‑care experience is advantageous.
