Conveyancing Attorney – Residential & Commercial Transactions

About the role

Our client, a leading legal practice in Pretoria, is seeking a qualified Conveyancing Attorney to manage residential and commercial property transactions from instruction through to registration. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior directors, support staff, and a diverse client base while handling the full conveyancing cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residential and commercial conveyancing matters from instruction to registration.
• Draft and prepare all conveyancing documentation, agreements and related legal instruments.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, financial institutions, bond originators, municipalities and the Deeds Office.
• Attend to bond registrations, property transfers, bond cancellations and related matters.
• Conduct Deeds Office searches and monitor registration progress.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, FICA and banking requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, resolve queries promptly and provide exceptional client service.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer with at least 2 years post‑admittance experience.
• Proven ability to manage the full conveyancing process.
• Strong knowledge of Deeds Office procedures and conveyancing legislation.
• Excellent contract drafting, accounting and financial administration skills.
• Fluent Afrikaans (first language) with strong verbal and written communication.
• High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and manage multiple matters.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
