Contracts Manager – Civil & Construction

About the role

Our client in the Western Cape seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to lead civil engineering projects from award through to successful completion. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with strong client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee contract administration, including claims, variations, and compliance.
• Plan, programme and monitor project progress to meet schedule and budget targets.
• Manage project costs, procurement, subcontractors and overall commercial performance.
• Lead site operations, ensuring quality workmanship, safe practices and efficient resource utilisation.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA, project specifications and company quality standards.
• Coordinate plant, equipment and material resources to maximise productivity.
• Mentor and manage site personnel such as Site Agents, Foremen, Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors.

Required profile

• Matric and a National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering (BEng/BSc preferred).
• ECSA registration or progress towards registration is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience, with at least 5 years managing contracts of R5 million or more.
