Consultant Radiologist – PET‑CT Unit

About the role

The Central Analytical Facilities (CAF) of Stellenbosch University is seeking a Consultant Radiologist to join the NII PET‑CT Unit at Tygerberg Hospital. The role blends clinical reporting, research image analysis, and academic collaboration within a state‑of‑the‑art PET‑CT and radiopharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and report PET‑CT (majority) and SPECT‑CT studies in partnership with nuclear physicians.
• Interpret other imaging modalities including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X‑ray, and mammography.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to present study findings.
• Contribute to the clinical service of Tygerberg Hospital’s Radiodiagnosis and Nuclear Medicine divisions, as capacity allows.
• Perform research imaging analysis and reporting for national and international collaborations.

Required profile

• Qualified specialist radiologist with experience in PET‑CT and SPECT‑CT interpretation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nuclear medicine physicians, researchers, and clinicians.
• Commitment to both clinical service and research activities.
