Construction Manager – Luxury Villa Site Lead (Cape Town)

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Site Manager to lead the construction of a high‑end luxury villa in Cape Town. The role serves as the primary link between our remote design and project teams and the on‑site execution, ensuring the project meets the highest standards of quality, safety and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all on‑site activities, guaranteeing compliance with local building codes, safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, promptly addressing safety or quality issues.
• Ensure construction follows approved plans, drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Head of Construction to manage schedules, allocate resources and supervise material procurement.
• Maintain rigorous quality control and monitor site‑level expenses against the approved budget.
• Coordinate subcontractors, skilled labour and on‑site teams to sustain workflow and resolve challenges.
• Act as the main point of contact between the construction site and the wider project team, stepping in for the Head of Construction when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture; postgraduate studies in Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction site roles, with at least three full‑cycle projects completed in South Africa, preferably in luxury residential or tourist‑region developments.
• Proven track record delivering high‑end villa projects and solving technical or logistical challenges.
• Fluent English for communication with international management and site teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Revit.
• Proficiency with MS Project.
• Strong knowledge of South African building codes and construction practices.
