Construction Manager

About the role

Our client in Knysna is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead residential and commercial projects from start to handover. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control and high‑quality delivery on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day site operations from establishment through final handover.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and on‑site teams.
• Plan daily activities and track progress against the project programme.
• Conduct quality inspections, identify and rectify defects promptly.
• Monitor labour productivity, material usage, plant and equipment.
• Identify construction risks and implement corrective actions.
• Control project timelines to minimise delays and cost overruns.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years proven experience as a Site Manager or Construction Manager in residential and commercial construction.
• National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering or related field (advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, electrical and plumbing drawings.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and large‑scale projects.
