Construction Manager (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

Fantastic career opportunity for a hardworking Construction Manager with strong leadership skills, based in the Western Cape. The role is a six‑month contract with the possibility of permanent employment based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate construction projects, including schedules, resources, budgets, and risk management.
• Oversee daily site operations across multiple projects, ensuring safety, timeliness, specification compliance, and quality standards.
• Manage subcontractors, site managers, supervisors, and project teams to maintain productivity and accountability.
• Monitor project progress from planning through commissioning and handover, ensuring contractual and legal compliance.
• Control project costs, procurement, and resource allocation while evaluating supplier and subcontractor performance.
• Resolve technical, operational, and logistical issues that arise during construction.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, communicate with clients and stakeholders, and negotiate or resolve project‑related disputes.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• BEng or BSc in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent Project/Construction Management qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in construction and project management within renewable energy.
• Proven ability to manage diverse and simultaneous projects.
• Knowledge of Solar PV construction processes is advantageous.
