Construction Commercial & Operations Manager (Remote)

About the role

The client is looking for an experienced Construction Commercial & Operations Manager to act as the commercial and operational backbone of a growing construction and development business. This senior, fully‑remote position supports the Directors and Head of Construction across multiple live projects, ensuring profitability, effective cost control and smooth delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly client valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.
• Monitor project budgets, profitability, variations and change control.
• Produce Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and support cash‑flow forecasting.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, source materials, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Allocate supplier and subcontractor invoices to projects and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Generate labour forecasts, resource planning schedules and operational coordination between site teams, suppliers and management.
• Develop management reports, dashboards and project performance tracking.

Required profile

• Significant experience in the construction industry, preferably as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, Cost Controller or Operations Manager with strong commercial focus.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, organise large amounts of data and communicate forward‑looking project information to senior leadership.
• Experience with main contractors, design‑build firms, specialist subcontractors, residential developers or construction management companies.
