Design Architect – Cape Town (Revit)

About the role

A leading architectural practice in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Design Architect to lead conceptual design and development of complex projects across multiple sectors. The role involves taking projects from feasibility through to developed design while maintaining design intent and integrating sustainability and engineering requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead conceptualisation and design development of complex architectural projects (Work Stages 1‑4).
• Produce architectural and technical information, masterplans and feasibility studies for clients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams and ensure integration of engineering, sustainability and specialist requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to studio design capability.
• Present design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture and professional registration with SACAP.
• 5‑8 years post‑qualification experience delivering complex projects through feasibility, concept and developed design stages.
• Strong conceptual design portfolio and ability to balance creativity with technical feasibility and commercial objectives.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Autodesk Revit (conceptual massing, design options, schedules, documentation).
• SketchUp, Autodesk FormIt and Autodesk Forma.
• Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
• Visualization tools such as Twinmotion, Lumion or Enscape.
• Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360.
