Construction Architect – Expat Role in Nigeria

About the role

This is an expatriate, contractor‑side position for an experienced architect who has moved into design coordination or design management. You will join a leading Nigerian construction firm that delivers high‑end residential, hospitality, commercial and mixed‑use high‑rise projects across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across large‑scale construction projects.
• Manage the design development process from concept through construction.
• Serve as the primary contact for all site‑related design queries and technical clarifications.
• Facilitate communication between architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, specialist consultants, contractors and the project team.
• Review drawings to ensure coordination, constructability and compliance with project objectives.
• Identify, manage and resolve design conflicts and interdisciplinary clashes before they affect construction.
• Monitor design revisions and ensure all stakeholders work from the latest approved documentation.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and distribute it effectively.
• Collaborate with site and commercial teams to keep design solutions practical, cost‑effective and aligned with budgets.
• Provide ongoing technical guidance throughout the construction phase.

Required profile

• Qualified architect with proven experience in design coordination or design management within a construction contracting environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, resolve technical challenges and maintain programme, budget and quality objectives.
• Track record of coordinating complex, multidisciplinary high‑rise projects.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, international setting.
