Compliance Officer – Property Management

About the role

The property company based in Sandton, Johannesburg is looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to oversee compliance across its property portfolio. The successful candidate will ensure that internal policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards are consistently applied.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor compliance across the property portfolio.
• Ensure internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Maintain compliance registers, records and supporting documentation.
• Review and monitor leases, supplier documents and property compliance requirements.
• Assist with audits and prepare compliance reports for management.
• Track expiry dates for licences, certificates, contracts and statutory documents.
• Liaise with landlords, tenants, service providers and internal departments.
• Identify compliance risks and assist with corrective action plans.
• Support health & safety, POPIA, FICA and general governance compliance.

Required profile

• Matric certificate.
• Relevant compliance, legal or property qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience within a property management company.
• Strong understanding of property management processes and compliance requirements.
• Excellent administration, reporting and document management abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
