Community Operations Manager – George

About the role

Fidelity Services Group is recruiting a Community Operations Manager for its George area. The postholder takes full responsibility for all operational and managerial functions in the area, including proactive crime prevention, liaison with the SAPS, staff training, client service and general security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run a proactive strategy: patrol routes, stand-off points, joint operations and visibility drives, with at least 1-2 operations per week in high-risk areas
• Analyse crime trends, plan special operations (FADT and/or joint operations) and run quarterly security risk assessments
• Build working relationships with SAPS sector members, sector commanders, CPF and station commanders, attend their meetings and help solve crime incidents
• Train reaction and LSS officers in proactive techniques such as meet-and-greets, open gates, stop-and-question, weak-spot identification and mindset change
• Set up WhatsApp groups, compile a monthly stakeholder report, record operations and share PR material with marketing
• Manage response areas, service levels and response-time KPIs, compile incident reports and keep SOPs up to date
• Control the budget, overtime and expenses, manage new hires, disciplinary hearings and performance appraisals
• Manage fleet requirements, FAMS firearms, payroll, time books and leave, and monitor PSIRA registrations and competencies
• Handle incidents including motor vehicle accidents, manage zero-harm health and safety, and stay on call 24 hours

Required profile

• Matric
• Valid driver's licence
• PSIRA registered Grade B
• Valid firearm competency (handgun for business purposes)
• 3-5 years of management experience in the security industry
