Communications and External Relations Associate

About the role

The Communications and External Relations Associate will support the Regional Stakeholder Engagement team in delivering strategic communications across the World Bank Group’s seven regions. You will help build support for World Bank priorities, protect its reputation, and enable operational effectiveness through innovative engagement tools.

Key responsibilities

• Manage strategic communications and stakeholder engagement across regional and country offices.
• Build understanding and support for World Bank Group priorities among diverse audiences.
• Enhance and protect the World Bank’s reputation as a leading development organization.
• Support operational effectiveness and social accountability by sharing development progress, knowledge, and results.
• Utilize traditional and digital communication tools, including social media and emerging AI technologies, to shape development debates.

Required profile

• Dynamic and innovative professional prepared to use modern engagement strategies.
• Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders such as media, civil society, foundations, private sector, donor countries, and international organizations.
• Understanding of rapidly evolving economic and social contexts in developing countries.
