About the role
The Commis will support the Executive Chef and Chef De Cuisine in delivering high‑quality food service at One&Only Cape Town. Working in a luxury hotel environment, you will ensure hygiene, sanitation and smooth kitchen operations while contributing to creative food displays and guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of kitchen production, presentation and cleanliness.
- Prepare and organise mise‑en‑place before service begins.
- Follow standard operating procedures and hygiene protocols at all times.
- Label products with dates and ensure proper storage.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment according to schedules.
- Communicate guest feedback to the chef and management and assist with service recovery.
- Participate in all training sessions conducted by the Training Department.
- Support inter‑department coordination and perform any additional duties as directed.
Required profile
- Strong commitment to food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented kitchen.
- Willingness to learn and follow SOPs and training guidelines.
- Professional attitude that enhances the overall guest experience.
