Commercial Partnership Manager – Cross‑Border

About the role

Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a Commercial Partnership Manager – Cross‑Border to drive the growth of its international seller ecosystem. Reporting to the Head of Cross‑Border Sellers, you will be based in Cape Town and work closely with internal teams to build and scale relationships with aggregator platforms that connect overseas sellers to the Takealot marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and map global aggregator platforms and build a prioritized pipeline aligned with Takealot’s target seller profiles.
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiations, defining referral fees, co‑marketing commitments, data‑sharing arrangements and service‑level agreements.
• Design and deliver onboarding programmes, training materials and go‑to‑market toolkits for aggregator partners.
• Act as the primary point of contact, conducting regular business reviews, managing escalations and ensuring partner engagement.
• Collaborate with partners to create structured seller referral pipelines and hand‑off qualified leads to the Sales & Account Management team.
• Partner with Takealot’s marketing team to plan and execute joint acquisition campaigns, webinars and trade‑show activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial partnership or business development roles.
• Deep understanding of cross‑border e‑commerce mechanics and South African regulatory requirements.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and manage multi‑stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset to track referral pipelines and measure partnership performance.
