Commercial Manager – Cape Town

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the Cape Town branch of Manitou Centre, driving sales, service and parts revenue while ensuring profitable growth. Reporting to the General Manager, the role combines commercial strategy with operational oversight in a decentralized environment.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new equipment sales, rentals, used‑equipment transactions and service contracts across construction, industrial and port sectors.
• Negotiate high‑value supply agreements, financing terms and trade‑in configurations.
• Manage the sales pipeline in the CRM, converting leads into active accounts and expanding market share.
• Promote long‑term maintenance contracts and resolve technical escalations to maintain fleet availability.
• Lead parts sales teams, balance inventory levels, and coordinate with central supply to minimise back‑orders.
• Oversee branch financial governance, including credit risk, debtor ageing and expense control.

Required profile

• Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, revenue and cost analysis.
• Deep commercial understanding of the equipment sales and rental market in the Cape region.
• Excellent negotiation, problem‑solving and customer‑centric skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, develop commercial plans and operate a decentralized branch with autonomy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with enterprise ERP software (e.g., Evolve).
• Experience using integrated CRM systems.
