Junior Sales Representative (FMCG)

About the role

We are urgently recruiting a Junior Sales Representative for a client in Maitland, Cape Town. The position is ideal for a recently qualified BSc graduate or a candidate with 1‑3 years of FMCG sales experience, focusing on achieving sales targets and supporting sales campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage fortnightly call schedules and client visits.
• Classify, segment, and prioritise clients to maximise growth opportunities.
• Conduct market research and maintain up‑to‑date product and industry knowledge.
• Implement and support promotional activities according to company guidelines.
• Build and grow market share across all product categories.
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships to ensure service effectiveness.
• Compile and submit accurate weekly sales and ADAPT reports within set deadlines.
• Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities and emerging markets.
• Manage sales administration and reporting processes to company standards.
• Ensure client deliveries and service execution meet company expectations.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) – essential.
• Minimum of 1–3 years sales experience, preferably within FMCG, or a recently qualified BSc graduate.
• Strong computer literacy with sound numeracy and technical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s licence – compulsory.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Achievement focus and planning/organising ability.
