Commercial Manager – Agriculture & Licensing

About the role

The Commercial Manager will act as the bridge between the licensing team and growers, nurseries, and distribution partners in South Africa and the wider SADC region. Working in a hybrid setting, you will drive the adoption of proprietary varieties, manage licensing agreements, and support the commercial growth of a leading ag‑tech firm.

Key responsibilities

• Administer licensing agreements with producers, nurseries, distributors and marketers.
• Develop new business opportunities and expand profitable relationships.
• Coordinate plant material orders, importation and quarantine processes for new varieties.
• Prepare regular reports and support financial operations for the territory.
• Track licensed hectares and monitor compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• Strong commercial mindset with experience in agriculture or related sectors.
• Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented with solid organizational abilities.
