About the role

Take your commercial litigation career to the next level with a prestigious law firm in Sandton. The firm seeks Commercial Litigation Associates (junior and senior) with 1‑6 years of post‑admission experience to join its Corporate & Commercial Litigation practice, handling complex disputes across mining, finance and technology sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute litigation strategies for high‑value commercial disputes and investigations.
• Manage a full caseload from inception through resolution, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions and arbitration submissions, and appear in court or arbitral tribunals.
• Advise top‑tier clients on shareholder disputes, urgent applications, contract and IP matters.
• Collaborate with senior partners, forensic consultants and compliance professionals on corporate investigations.
• Maintain case files, track billable hours and prepare client billing statements.
• Mentor junior associates and guide candidate attorneys.

Required profile

• LLB and admission as an attorney in South Africa.
• 1–6 years post‑qualification experience in commercial litigation at a major law firm.
• Strong knowledge of South African court procedures, ADR mechanisms and corporate investigations.
• Confident courtroom presence and meticulous drafting skills.
• Excellent client communication and stakeholder management.
