Commercial Controller

About the role

The Commercial Controller will support PepsiCo’s Commercial and Advertising & Marketing (A&M) functions in South Africa. Reporting to the SA Controller, the role provides leadership, insight and control over spend, financial reporting and risk management to safeguard company resources and ensure compliance with PepsiCo policies.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with commercial and A&M stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and visibility on spend.
• Ensure accurate periodic, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including P&L and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Identify, assess and communicate operational risks and opportunities to senior finance leaders.
• Lead the governance of commercial trading terms, A&M contract approvals and related SOX/GCS controls.
• Conduct deep‑dive reviews, gap analyses and value‑add initiatives to improve control effectiveness.
• Support business change projects such as M&A, GTM resets and system implementations.
• Approve and monitor commercial and marketing contracts in line with policy.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of commercial finance, cost management and control frameworks.
• Experience with SOX compliance, GCS controls and financial statement accuracy.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence senior stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SOX and GCS control environments.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Familiarity with commercial trading terms and contract governance.
