Code 14 Driver - Poultry Logistics

About the role

Supreme Poultry is hiring a permanent Code 14 driver for its Logistics Division, based in Germiston, Gauteng, within the Midrand Logistics department. The driver operates an ultra-heavy UD truck tractor and trailer (27-ton vehicle) and transports company stock between the distribution centre, customers and processing plants.

Key responsibilities

• Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules, collecting and delivering stock safely and in line with company instructions.
• Secure loads properly and assist with loading and off-loading trucks when required.
• Inspect the vehicle daily, report defects immediately and keep the truck and refrigerated section clean before loading.
• Complete delivery documentation accurately, including proof of delivery (POD) documents and delivery slips.
• Communicate courteously with customers and report operational problems or deviations to management promptly.
• Comply with road traffic legislation, company policies, health and safety requirements and food safety procedures, and report traffic fines to management.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driving licence and valid, unendorsed PrDP.
• At least 4 years of stated Code 14 driving experience; 2-3 years preferred.
• Ability to work long hours behind the wheel, in a cold environment and with general physical effort.
