Clinical Nurse (R/N) – Experienced ICU

About the role

The Professional/Clinical Nurse will provide comprehensive, person‑centred care to ICU patients at Netcare Lakeview Hospital. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing interventions for critically ill patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to ICU patients, ensuring safety and adherence to clinical protocols.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, allied health professionals and support staff.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in patient records.
• Act as a patient advocate, communicating effectively with families and the health‑care team.
• Support and mentor junior nursing staff and assist with unit education initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) qualification with current registration in South Africa.
• Significant experience working in an intensive care or critical care environment.
• Strong understanding of holistic, person‑centred nursing practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ICU monitoring equipment and clinical documentation systems.
• Competence in assessing, planning and evaluating complex patient care plans.
• Effective communication and patient advocacy skills.
