Clinical Nurse – Community Health (Derby, WA)

About the role

This permanent full‑time position (76 hours per fortnight) is for a Clinical Nurse to join the Derby Community Health team. The role focuses on delivering primary health care, with a particular emphasis on school health, to individuals, families and the wider community in the Kimberley region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality primary health care services to the community, especially school‑aged children.
• Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary, multi‑sectoral and inter‑agency team.
• Travel to remote sites, including overnight stays, to ensure service coverage.
• Maintain accurate health records and use computer programs for documentation.
• Promote culturally appropriate care, particularly for Aboriginal health.

Required profile

• Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated commitment to primary health care principles and community development.
• Knowledge of cultural factors and social determinants affecting Aboriginal health.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Current C‑class driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
