Clinical Facilitator (Nursing Training)

About the role

Royal Buffalo Specialist Hospital is looking for a Clinical Facilitator, reporting to the Nursing Services Manager. The post is responsible for co-coordinating and delivering clinical nurse training so that nurses and students are competent and qualified in line with nursing objectives. It is a permanent position in the Nursing department, based in the Eastern Cape.

Key responsibilities

• Manage continuing professional development (CPD) and other programmes for qualified nurses, including planning and coordinating nursing competency requirements and providing coaching and mentoring
• Plan, coordinate and monitor risk-based in-service training programmes, take part in incident investigations and hospital quality projects, and identify risks in the use of products
• Manage internal and approved external student clinical programmes, from selection and practical examination support to student administration, resource management and feedback to the Learning Centre and Head of Department
• Support students with research projects in the hospital and help them develop clinical skills
• Identify clinical delivery problems and formulate plans of action, and take part in marketing the nursing profession and the hospital to students and the community

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Nursing with an appropriate specialisation
• Post-registration nursing experience in a relevant healthcare setting
• Current SANC registration and registered assessor status with SANC
• Proven clinical leadership expertise and knowledge of nursing legislation and education systems
• Driver's licence and ability to travel
