Civil Engineer – Irrigation Design & Field Work

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team in Brackenfell, focusing on irrigation system design and on‑site implementation. You will split your time between detailed CAD work and hands‑on field visits, collaborating closely with clients to deliver efficient, cost‑effective water‑distribution solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draft irrigation systems and related infrastructure using AutoCAD or ModelMaker.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing installations, diagnose issues, and propose practical remedies.
• Collaborate with clients to develop cost‑effective irrigation solutions.
• Support field measurements using GPS equipment.
• Prepare quantity take‑offs and provide accurate quotations.
• Gradually build project‑management capabilities within a supportive team environment.
• Work comfortably on farms, including occasional hands‑on tasks.

Required profile

• National Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering (CPUT or equivalent).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/ModelMaker – essential.
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English – essential.
• Strong interest in technical drawing, estimating, and surveying.
• Willingness to develop project‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s licence for site visits.
