Chief Technology Officer (Mechanical Engineer)

About the role

A permanent Chief Technology Officer (Mechanical Engineer) position based in the Fochville area, reporting directly to the CEO of an international, technically driven mining operation. The role leads engineering, manufacturing, R&D and technology, turning innovation into commercially successful, real-world solutions.

• Drive manufacturing excellence and scalability
• Advance automation, mechanisation and digital technology
• Make sound capital and technology investment decisions
• Lead senior engineering, manufacturing and R&D teams
• Connect technical excellence with commercial performance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Significant senior engineering and executive leadership experience
• Strong exposure to manufacturing, R&D and technology development
• Proven ability to move innovation from idea to practical application and commercial value
• Commercial and financial judgement
• Experience in mining, drilling, heavy industrial or project-driven engineering environments highly regarded
• Comfort in a hands-on, entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, with flexibility for international travel
• Cultural fit: adaptability, integration into a predominantly Afrikaans-speaking workplace, comfort in an owner-driven business and willingness to attend to critical business needs outside normal hours

What we offer

• Salary of R3 million to R4 million CTC per annum, excluding STI and LTI, depending on qualifications, experience and skills
• Permanent appointment
