About the role
The Limpopo Department of Education is seeking a Chief Network Controller for the Mopani East District to lead and manage the department’s network and communication systems. This role ensures reliable connectivity, robust security, and compliance across all educational sites in the district.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all network and communication system operations.
- Monitor network performance and security using advanced tools.
- Ensure reliable connectivity across all departmental sites (LAN/WAN/WiFi).
- Oversee backup, data recovery, and recovery procedures.
- Maintain ICT documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IT security standards and data protection policies.
Required profile
- NQF level 6 qualification recognized by SAQA.
- Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Telecommunication or Electronic Engineering are an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in IT or related fields.
- Valid driver’s licence (except for people with disabilities).
Required skills
- Knowledge of network design.
- Knowledge of network security and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, OSPF and BGP.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN and WiFi technologies.
