Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

About the role

Electrum is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer to own and execute its enterprise‑wide security strategy. Reporting to the CTO, the CISO will translate cyber risk into business value, ensure secure scaling of cloud‑native payment platforms, and protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client data.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the information security strategy and roadmap across the organization.
• Protect client data, payment platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS) and internal systems.
• Lead Cybersecurity and Compliance functions, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 and data‑protection laws.
• Establish and enforce security policies, standards and frameworks.
• Provide executive visibility of cyber‑risk posture to the EXCO and Board.
• Maintain independent security risk oversight and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in information security, preferably within FinTech or cloud‑native environments.
• Ability to translate technical risk into strategic business decisions.
• Strong communication skills to interact with executive leadership and board members.
• Track record of building and leading high‑performing security teams.

Required skills

• AWS cloud security expertise.
• Implementation and maintenance of ISO 27001 controls.
• Implementation and maintenance of SOC 2 controls.
• Deep knowledge of data‑protection regulations and risk‑management frameworks.
