Chief Financial Officer

About the role

TRT Manufacturing (TRTM) is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic financial leadership and operational management to its finance teams across South Africa, Benin and other African regions. The role aligns financial strategy with the company's growth objectives, ensuring strong financial governance, operational efficiency and risk management. The position can be based in either South Africa or Benin.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies and provide strategic insights to executives; lead initiatives that improve financial performance, efficiency and profitability.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, keeping models aligned with manufacturing trends and market conditions, and manage budgets and P&L.
• Drive cost efficiency and risk management, establish internal controls, and manage cash flow and treasury operations.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting across all countries, work with auditors and regulators on tax compliance, and standardise reporting systems.
• Lead and mentor a multi-country finance team, oversee talent acquisition, development and succession planning, and promote knowledge sharing.
• Advise the General Manager, Board of Directors and EXCO, and engage with investors, banks and regulators.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field; a Master's degree (e.g. MBA) or professional certification (e.g. CA, CPA, CIMA) is highly preferred.
• At least 10 years of financial leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Proven experience managing financial operations across several African countries.
• Ability to travel extensively and handle on-the-ground responsibilities.
