Chief Accountant & Office Manager

About the role

Steak King Market, a gourmet grocery business operating online stores, retail outlets and cafés across Hong Kong, is seeking a Chief Accountant / Office Manager to support its rapid expansion. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and provide essential administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting transactions
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Publish financial statements on schedule
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Maintain financial data confidentiality and perform database backups when needed
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
• Monitor, evaluate and verify departmental expenses against budget
• Manage a small accounts team
• Reconcile the inventory system with Xero

Required profile

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Additional certification such as CPA or CMA (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Required skills

• GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Advanced MS Excel
• General ledger functions
• Proficiency with Xero accounting software
